Modular Chair Prototype

In the span of two weeks I created a rough concept for a modular chair. The prototype turns and twists to sit anywhere from 1-3 people.

The prototype was made at a 1/8th scale out of red oak, maroon leather and a couple of fixings.

When I designed this I was living in a very small dorm room with a lot of chairs that never seemed to pack away efficiently or be very comfortable.

I wanted to design something that a small group of people could use as seating within a confined space, that could then be broken down into individual parts.
